Dear Friend,
I just got back from New York, where we gathered 23 leaders working on Korea peace, including Korean Americans from divided families, a son of a US soldier still missing from the Korean War, nonproliferation experts, a pastor, and humanitarian aid workers that have supported North Korean farmers and doctors for decades.
Afterward, I flew to Los Angeles for the West Coast premiere of Deann Borshay Liem’s new film, CROSSINGS, at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
At both of these events I was truly inspired by the growth and diversity of our Korea peace movement — especially the younger generation — all of us united by our desire for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
This virtual fundraiser will include:
Special greeting from Gloria Steinem
Korean drumming “Ulim-울림” by Dohee Lee and MU Ritual Performers: Codie Otte, Emily Encina, Eugene Kang, Judy Jun, Yong Chan Miller
Remarks by Don Mee Choi, 2021 MacArthur Fellow; Christine Ahn, Women Cross DMZ Executive Director; Aiyoung Choi, Women Cross DMZ Board Chair; Deann Borshay Liem, Director of CROSSINGS; and more
We’ll share more about our exciting plans for CROSSINGS as well as future projects of Women Cross DMZ.
Hope to see you then.
Christine Ahn
