Cathi Choi (she/her) is the Executive Director of Women Cross DMZ, a global activist movement focused on ending the Korean War, reuniting families, and advancing feminist peacebuilding efforts. She co-coordinates the Korea Peace Now! Grassroots Network, established in 2019 to mobilize communities toward demilitarization and lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Her writing has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy In Focus, In These Times, Journal of Policy History, Asian Pacific American Law Journal, Yes! Magazine, The Hill, The National Interest, among other publications. She has contributed media commentary to KPFK, In These Times, Dropsite News, NK News, Radio Korea, and WBAI Radio.
Cathi is a frequent speaker at conferences and convenings in the U.S. and globally. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Columbia University, and the London School of Economics. Cathi is a member of the California and New York state bars. She previously worked at a civil rights law firm in Los Angeles, and clerked with Judge Denny Chin (U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit) and Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel (U.S. District Court, Southern District of California).
She is the Program Committee Co-Chair for GYOPO, a collective of diasporic Korean cultural producers and arts professionals generating progressive, critical, intersectional, and intergenerational discourses, community alliances, and free educational programs.
