We are convening the Feminist Peace Summit in the face of intensifying militarization and climate devastation at home and abroad. A reorientation toward feminist principles is necessary to move U.S. foreign policy away from forever war. A feminist peace agenda must be rooted in the lived experiences of those most harmed by war and militarism and include the leadership of communities of color and immigrant communities who have led anti-militarism struggles for decades. We seek to reorient US policymaking away from militarism and endless wars toward an ethic of human security grounded in justice, peace, and ecological sustainability.
The Feminist Peace Summit is organized by the Feminist Peace Initiative, a collaboration between Grassroots Global Justice Alliance, MADRE, and Women Cross DMZ, in partnership with The Inclusive Global Leadership Initiative at the Sié Center at the University of Denver.
