This upcoming July 27 marks the 68th anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement.
The Biden administration has reviewed its North Korea policy and held the ROK-US summit recently. However, no progress for peace on the Korean Peninsula has been made. The continuing US-China competition would increase military tension and threaten the trust-building process on the Korean Peninsula, which present challenges to the Korea Peace Process. Moreover, we are concerned that the upcoming the ROK-US combined military exercise would create even more tensions.
Even amidst these circumstances, the people’s global action for Korea Peace continues. In July, people in the US will have a congressional advocacy week for ending the travel ban to North Korea for peace and their support of the Peace on the Korean Peninsula Act. In South Korea, civil society will take actions against the ROK-US combined military exercise. The Korea Peace Appeal Campaign will take joint actions to end the unresolved Korean war and lasting peace on the peninsula in July. This webinar is organized to raise awareness of the current political situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula and to encourage people to participate in the joint actions of the campaign.
Please join the webinar for building international solidarity for an end to the unresolved Korean war and lasting peace on the peninsula and in the region!
