Cathi Choi leads Women Cross DMZ, a global activist movement focused on ending the Korean War, reuniting families, and advancing feminist peacebuilding efforts. She co-coordinates the Korea Peace Now! Grassroots Network, established in 2019 to mobilize communities toward demilitarization and lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Her legal background includes work at a civil rights law firm in Los Angeles, plus clerkships with Judge Denny Chin (U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit) and Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel (U.S. District Court, Southern District of California).
She serves as Program Committee Co-Chair for GYOPO, an organization creating progressive, critical, and intersectional cultural discourse by diasporic Korean artists and professionals. Her writing appears in major publications including the Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy In Focus, and The Hill. She has contributed media commentary to KPFK, NK News, and Radio Korea.
