Dear Friend,
Join us this Thursday, October 8 at 5pm PT/8pm ET for KPNGN’s October meeting! We will hold a workshop demystifying the op-ed writing process and give you the tools to get your voice published. An op-ed in your local newspaper and other media is one of the most effective tools to shape the narrative, influence elected officials, and mobilize your neighbors to take action for Korea peace. Immediately after, we will resume our three-part Korea Peace Now! Grassroots Network Orientation with an overview of KPNGN, its history, and structure. Mark your calendars! RSVP here.

On September 23, Women Cross DMZ joined public officials, civil society, and community members at Congresswoman Delia Ramirez’s (IL-03) introduction of the Reimagining Safety Act, community-led legislation to dismantle DHS, abolish ICE, and reimagine community safety for all. Women Cross DMZ also joined Muslims for Just Futures’ convergence, “Just Futures 2.0: The Next 25: Futures Free of State Terror.” At these gatherings, we shared how movements to end wars and militarism abroad are tied to movements challenging state violence, policing, and surveillance at home.

October 20, 2026 | National Iranian American Council’s Join the Movement to Stop Iran War
KPNGN endorses the National Iranian American Council’s action agenda: beginning with a nationwide October 20, 2026 day of action at congressional district offices around the country, we will mobilize in our communities, demand that Congress stop all funding for the war, uphold its war powers, investigate all crimes committed with our tax dollars, and support a peace deal to end this war immediately. This is the beginning of a nationwide movement to stop the illegal war on Iran—uniting people in the streets, organizing in and in front of congressional offices, and building the political power to force an end to war, escalation, sanctions, and the wider “forever war” agenda.Learn more here.

November 11, 2026 at 5-7pm | Symposium and Reenactment of Oyama v. California | Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, CA

Join us for an evening with Judge Denny Chin of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and leading civil rights advocates and scholars, including Professor Bob Chang (UCI Law, Korematsu Center), Bethany Li (Asian American Legal Defense Fund) and more for a reenactment of Oyama v. California. We will discuss Oyama’s enduring legacies with legal scholars, civil rights advocates, historians, organizers, and policymakers to examine the enduring relationship between national security, foreign policy, democracy, and Asian American civil rights. Oyama provides a powerful historical lens through which to examine recurring questions that confront us today: How does wartime nationalism reshape constitutional rights? When do national security claims undermine democratic principles? Attendance is free but RSVP is required. RSVP here.
