Midsummer Dreams for Korea Peace: Celebrating Our Narrative Changemakers

May 28, 2024

Women Cross DMZ warmly invites you to a special July fundraiser celebrating trailblazing artists, activists, and scholars challenging entrenched paradigms and reclaiming narratives on the longest-running U.S. conflict, the Korean War.

RSVP and donate here!

Join us in celebrating changemakers leading us towards a hopeful future built on peace, justice, and generational healing. Proceeds from this event will support our work to transform U.S. policy on Korea, end the “forgotten” Korean War, and cultivate the next generation of Korea peace leaders.

We will honor three pre-eminent champions of narrative change for peace: Bruce Cumings, foremost historian on the Korean War; Deann Borshay Liem, Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker; and Viet Thanh Nguyen, Pulitzer Prize-winning author. Their artistry and scholarship have reshaped our memories of the Korean and Vietnam Wars by uplifting the voices of those most directly impacted.

Be inspired by the intergenerational feminist leadership from Women Cross DMZ — Christine Ahn and Cathi Choi — whose work is charting new paths for Korea Peace. Dohee Lee, renowned multidisciplinary artist, will nourish our souls with a special performance with music, song, and dance.

Join us on July 14 from 3-6pm PT for a mid-summer gathering with soju cocktails, delectable Korean fare, and rich conversation to dream and scheme for peace.
